3 Button Gloves


 

*Please forgive the awful quality of this picture,, I don't have a good camera. And my hand turned out rather weird >.<  Fingers were bent when the picture was taken, so it looks like I don't have some of them .....*

Very simple pair of fingerless gloves. Knit back and forth on straight needles, seamed at end. 

Needed:

#8 (5mm) straight knitting needles or size required to get gauge or 25 sts per sq. in. 
Tapestry needle
Scraps of worsted/sock yarn
6 buttons
Approx 30 yards per glove of bulky weight. (Used Loops & Threads: Country Loom in color Rich Blues)
These gloves fit your average women's hand, and possibly some smaller men's hands... A single skein of Country Loom should be able to make 2 pairs of gloves...
Left Glove: 

Cast On 26 stitches. 
Work 5 rows of k1/p1 ribbing.
k 5 rows.
k 10 sts, bind off 6 sts, k rem. 10 sts. 
k 7 rows on the 10 sts BEFORE the 6 st. bind off. 
On the 7th row, when you get to the bind off, cast on 6 sts.. 
k 7 rows on the 10 sts after your new 6 sts. 
k 2 rows across all sts. 
k 1 row, but make a 2 st buttonhole 3 sts from the end of the row (bind off 2 sts before you get to the last 3 in the row.)
k 3 sts, cast on 2, k to end.
k 2 rows.
k to last 5, bind off 2, k to end.
k 3 sts, cast on 2, k to end.
k 2 rows.
k to last 5 sts, bind off 2, k to end,
k 3 sts, cast on 2, k to end.
k 3 rows. 
Bind off. 
Sew on buttons (smaller yarn may be used here, bulky yarn doesn't go through most button holes that easily.), lining them up with the button holes. 
Sew up the remaining half of the glove.

Right Glove:
Cast On 26 stitches.

Bind off.
