Striped Fingerless Gloves

So a friend of mine asked me to make a pair of gloves for her. Now since I'm not a fan of knitting in the round (or picking up for fingers/thumbs either), this is more of a sleeve, knit flat. It's meant to have negative to no ease. Should fit the hand/arm of the average teenager or lady.

Gauge should be approx. 25 sts per sq. in.

Needed:
1 ball Bernat Satin in color Ebony (A)
1 ball NaturallyCaron.com Spa in color Natural (B)
1 pair of size 6 straight needles
1 tapestry needle

This amount of yarn will be able to make at least 2 pairs, maybe even 3.

1.In color A, cast on 26 stitches.
2.Work 5 rows of k1/p1 ribbing.
3.Knit 5 rows in color B.
4.Knit 5 rows in color A.
5. Repeat steps 3-4 4 more times.
6. Knit 5 rows color B.
7. Work 5 rows of k1/p1 ribbing in A.
8. Cast off loosely.
9. Fold in half (inside out) and stitch up the first inch, leaving 2 inches open for the thumb, then continue to  stitch the of the seam.
10. Take care of any loose ends, and turn inside out, A.K.A. the 'right' way, the way you want people to see it. (The side that isn't nearly entirely purled!)

Holey Gloves

This uses almost the same pattern as the holey scarf. Because of construction and the materials it's made of, it should  fit most hands...

Gauge should be 10 sts by 6 rows per sq. inch in k1/p1 ribbing, slightly stretched.

Used were Size 6/4mm straight knitting needles, and about 1/4 of a skein of sock yarn. (Loops & Threads Luxury Sock in color 'Crocuses')

Simply cast on 41 stitches and follow the chart. When finished, fold in half, and seam up, leaving space for a thumb hole. If you wish, you can sew together the material between the fingers, making small fingerholes, and making sure that they'll fit snugly.

On the plus side, if they stretch, it really shows off the pattern :D
